Arrgghh. Author's Angst Sunday.

7k words into a story and I find myself balking every time I come to write my hero in 3rd person. I've just erased another example of "I said" with "he said", it just slipped into the text. His name sits awkwardly, too, every time I type it, which may be due to the wrong choice of name or another symptom of the wrong tense.

I admit I started the story as 1st person, which is often my preference for shorter stories. Then I thought it might feel too one-sided so I swapped to 3rd. But it seems the story itself is pushing me back! LOL

Can't fight nature, I suppose :). Maybe this is why it's been a plod-through rather than a flow this weekend. So now I'm going to skim through and convert it back and see if it reads better.

Update: methinks this will need a beta read-through to catch any remaining misses, if anyone has time at the end of next week!

From the Carina Press Blog this weekend:

"If you’re as busy as I am (and I know you are), then you love “Best Of” lists because they take the guesswork out of wading through so many options. “Weed out the best and I’ll read it!” I always say. (Well, I’ve never said that out loud, but you get the point.)

I’d also like to throw out some props to our Carina Press authors who have made it on these “Best Of” lists, especially within just 6 months of publishing Carina Press ebooks! Our readers are so important to us and being embraced by the blogging community is truly icing on the cake! (Now I want cake.)

Without further ado, here’s a list of some Carina Press titles that have made it on “Best Of” lists in the blogosphere. Of course, all of our books are amazing! But if you’re looking for somewhere to start, try the ebooks below.

And because everyone should save a bit of money every now and then, I’d love to offer you an extra 15% off the featured titles below!

Just use coupon code BESTOFCARINA at Checkout. Offer is valid until April 30, 2011 11:59 p.m. EDT."
